All Burned Out...

Hi All,
Thank you for your lovely comments on my previous posts,
I thought I would make a start on this
all burned out by Dimensions,

It's Tapestry not cross stitch. I bought it a couple of years ago and am doing bits here and there when I'm not in the garden enjoying the sun :)

I'm using the continental stitch on this one as it's easier with all the colour changes.
If you'd like to know more on how to do tapestry and the different stitches you can find it Here

Happy summer days :)

  2. I love seeing new starts, this one looks great. It's nice to get away from cross stitch every now and then.

  4. Hiya dear Summer , hope your well and still catching those rays :))))) ..grab them while you can dear Summer , that winter shes a long time staying hahahahaha ...I so love this piece dear Summer , it encapsulates all that is cat at the end of its day :))))).. As you know I have an infinite passion for ALL felines be they domestic or wild , for me cats are the absolute in their physical engineering and personal traits , truly only the hand of the "One" could sculpture such perfectionism in a living creature ..Cat ..from the The old English word 'catt' as in the latin "cattus" and Greek "κάττα", most european languages formulate the word akin to "Cat" within there verbalisations.. Amazing creatures , alas you either adore them or hate them ..to those whom hate I say your loss :)))))....The times I've seen my mob sprawled before the old coal fire like this a mass of legs heads and bottoms hahaha , and while alas the old coal fires no more , they still adopt the positions taking up all of the main settee :))))))..they as ferrets capable of vast speed and lightning reflex , but also capable of complete catatonic ( no pun intended :))) ) state within a heartbeat ..truly masters of the extreme state :)))))....One see's this completed piece reflecting a richness and warmth of colour , tone and texture as you move effortlessly from one colour to next , merging sister colour to sister colour , AN ABSOLUTE MUST , to be viewed from a distance , that you may take in the whole piece as the a living complex , a capsulated moment in time continuum as it were ..For one is warmed not only be the roaring fire in the hearth but but the melting and mingling of feline muscle , as unto each other by there very presence , and trust in sleep , they become at one with ALL about them , for such is cat , master of shadow and light , mirror and glass , they are , and become , but the living extension of the of the fire itself in there mingling of orange's and yellows upon ash of gray and white ..:))))))..Dearest Summer your needle work is as always absolutely pristine , your Continental Tapestry stitch , seen under the glass is just PERFECT ..the overall visualization of the finished piece will be to give great density ( in the stitches locking ) and sculpture to the worked piece ,and in doing so add to its weight ..beautiful work Maestra ( feminine of Maestro ) . I SO LOVE THE SUBJECT MATTER :)))))..and skill to which you hone your art ..:))))) way to go dear Summer , as ALWAYS my greatest respects Ban :)))))) ^~~^
